Yesterday was our second and last day in San Diego. We went to the San Diego Zoo in Balboa
Park. The zoo had so many animals. We toured part of the zoo, walked back out to
our car for lunch, and then we toured more of the zoo. We ended our zoo excursion with a guided bus
tour through the park. We almost skipped
it, but at the last minute we decided to take the bus tour ("free"
with your ticket). We are so glad that
we took the bus tour! It was really
interesting to be told more about the animals and the trainers. I enjoyed seeing the giraffe and the
elephants the most. Did you know that
elephants are really smart and listen to their trainers! It was really cool to
watch an elephant get a "shower" and listen to his trainer's
commands. The zoo is also one of the four zoo's in the U.S. that has panda bears!
After the zoo, we drove through Balboa Park and then went to
the Gaslamp District in San Diego. We walked
along the ocean before having dinner at a very good restaurant. We were able to eat outside! We have been incredibly blessed with the
weather we have experienced!
