Day 2 of Yosemite was not quite as exciting as the
first. We planned to hike to the top of
Upper Yosemite Falls, which is another long hike (7 miles). And again, it was VERY STEEP! We started the hike and got about half way up
the mountain… we stopped for lunch where we were supposed to get our first
glimpse of the Falls. The Falls were
dry! We didn't know this, but Yosemite
Falls dry up almost every year at the beginning of August. This year, everything dried up earlier
because they didn't get as much snow as usual.
We were disappointed and decided not to hike to the top of the
Falls. We headed back down the mountain
after finishing our lunch and rode the bus to a swimming hole before heading
home. On the bus ride, we saw a
bear! We didn't have our camera out, unfortunately. But, it was neat to see a bear wandering
through the woods. We were tired from
all the hiking both days, but yet again, we were astounded by the beauty of the
Park!
