Trail that leads up to Watchman's Tower. The hike is VERY steep and through a bunch of snow. It's pretty chilly in the park. It was between 55 and 60 degrees this afternoon while we were there. The views from Watchman's Tower were spectacular! After hiking back down (much easier), we drove to Cleetwood Clove Trail. We were planning on going there tomorrow because that is where you catch the boat tour and get out on the water to see Wizard Island. We've decided not to go on the boat tour because it is pretty expensive. Maybe another time! So, we decided to hike the only trail that leads down to the water today. It is quite a hike! It's one mile down on a very steep trail. Then, it's one mile back up on a very steep trail (much easier going down). But, the hike is worth it if you are able! The water is incredibly blue and beautiful (and COLD)! There are no streams or rivers feeding the lake. The only water that replenishes the lake comes from melting snow and rain. After our hike back up, we stopped for ice cream and then came back to our camper for a dinner of pancakes and eggs (Dad, you would be proud)!
