Devil's Tower (Friday)

We started off yesterday with our drive from Mitchell, SD to Devil's Tower in Wyoming. Of course, we saw about a thousand Wall Drug signs along I-90, and we just had to stop!  We walked around for a few minutes and settled on getting a couple of homemade donuts before continuing our drive.

Devil's Tower was very neat! We got to our campground right at the base of the first National Monument and set up around 2pm.  Once we had some lunch, we headed over to the visitor center. Then, we hiked a 2.8 mile trail around the base of Devil's Tower.  There were some great views along the way of both the Tower and the surrounding landscape.  Afterwards, we climbed up the fallen boulders at the base of Devil's Tower.  The views from up there were stunning!  We saw several rock climbers making their way up the Tower... SO COOL!

Awesome scenic overlook!

The red clay and rock on one side of the Tower was neat.

The boulders that we climbed up were huge!
